Oil Flooded Rotary Screw Compressors are compressors that increase air pressure by taking the outside air and pulling it through the compressor consisting of two rotary screws which pull the air into a tighter and tighter space very quickly, thus compressing the air. Both the lubrication and the cooling are done by oil, which is why it is called oil flooded. The oil flooding allows the air compressor to handle a higher horsepower because of the more efficient cooling and lubrication abilities.
